Acupuncture with Cupping
This looks much worse than it feels. I am so thankful that my insurance covers part of my acupuncture appointments. The older I get the more I understand how important stretching, wearing the right footwear, strength training is to having my body not hurt. As a wardrobe stylist I could be on my feet for up to 16 hours a day on hard concrete floors. This isn’t standard but sometimes the reality of set life. I find acupuncture takes my back/ shoulder pain away differently than a massage/ chiropractor. Acupuncturist also combine cupping at the end of the service which is what caused all the bruising circles below.
Cupping therapy is a form of alternative medicine in which a local suction is created on the skin. I’m pretty banged up with bruises at the moment but when they will disappear and my back pain will start to fade. People use acupuncture for many different reasons anything from pain management, anxiety, sleep issues, to stop smoking. Basically anything to help calm your nerves and muscles. It is pretty pricey running about $80 a session. It usually takes a few sessions to get the problem solved. Needless to say I am a big fan of both acupuncture and cupping
